Rainer Mittermayr is a consultant trauma surgeon at UKH Meidling and head of the Wound Healing Research Group at LBI Trauma.
Rainer’s professional career began with his specialist training at the UKH Meidling, followed by roles in plastic and reconstructive surgery in Montpellier, France, and in general, visceral and tumour surgery at the Wilhelminenspital in Vienna. Rainer has been working as a specialist in trauma surgery at the UKH Meidling since 2013. In addition to his surgical work, Rainer is also in charge of the shock wave outpatient clinic at the UKH Meidling and the Vienna Shock Wave Centre. He is also part of the team at the Upper Austria Shockwave Centre. In 2012, Rainer was President of the International Society for Medical Shockwave Therapy.
In addition to his clinical and scientific activities, Rainer is involved in teaching as a lecturer at the Medical University of Vienna. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the International Society for Medical Shock Wave Treatment (ISMST).
