Patrick Heimel is responsible for operating the µCT and nCT and performing measurements on the resulting images. In this capacity he is involved in studies about bone regeneration, vascularization, peripheral nerve regeneration, cartilage cell cultures and artificial tendons.

He also works at the Karl Donath Laboratory for Hard Tissue Histology and Bone Regeneration at the Bernhard Gottlieb University Clinic of Dentistry. There, he performs histomorphometric measurements on hard tissue histological slides and measurements on µCT and CT images. Current projects include studies regarding dental implant placement, bone regeneration, artificial tendons and 3D bone morphology.
