Magdalena Metzger completed her master’s degree in Molecular Microbiology, Microbial Ecology and Immunobiology at the University of Vienna and currently continues her academic journey at Vienna University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, where she pursues a doctoral programme in soil culture.

Her research focuses on the development of new approaches to infection control, with a central focus on the development of strategies against the emergence of antibiotic resistance. In addition, Magdalena also deals with issues relevant to occupational medicine through the close cooperation between the LBI Trauma and the AUVA. For instance, she focuses on the research into skin protection products and their possible undesirable side effects in the context of skin disease prevention.
