Magdalena Metzger completed her Master’s degree in Molecular Microbiology, Microbial Ecology, and Immunobiology at the University of Vienna, followed by a PhD at BOKU Vienna. Her doctoral research focussed on preventive skin disinfection in the context of skin health, as well as on developing new approaches to combat wound infections, with particular emphasis on strategies to prevent antibiotic resistance.

Magdalena is currently working on occupational health-related topics through the close collaboration between LBI Trauma and AUVA. Her research places special emphasis on the investigation of skin protection products and their potential unintended side effects in the prevention of occupational skin diseases.
