Vanessa Geyik completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science at FH Campus Wien and a Master’s degree in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine at FH Technikum Wien. In her Master’s thesis, she developed a vascularised, perfusable in vitro skin model.

As part of her doctoral research, Vanessa focuses on the prevention of occupational diseases caused by skin-absorbed substances. Her work investigates whether certain work-related chemicals can be absorbed through the skin and to what extent skin protection products provide an effective barrier against this diffusion.
