Skin cancer prevention: Survey on UV protection measures in the workplace

Working outdoors can expose employees to very high levels of UV radiation from the sun. This increases the risk of UV-related skin cancer. All employees who spend a lot of time working outdoors are invited to take part in a survey conducted by LBI Trauma and AUVA.

The risk of UV-related skin cancer is also reflected in the high number of new cases in Europe, particularly among people who spend much of their working time outdoors. Protective measures against excessive sun exposure are especially important for employees who are frequently outdoors. Under certain conditions, non-melanoma (white) skin cancer can be recognized as an occupational disease in Austria.

In cooperation with AUVA, LBI Trauma has launched a survey aimed at all employees who work a lot outdoors. This includes people who, on average, work outdoors for at least two hours a day, such as those on construction sites, in agriculture, horticulture, transport, kindergartens, or the police.

Do you work a lot outdoors? Then take part!

As part of the survey, existing protective measures are being assessed. The results will be incorporated into a study to improve prevention concepts in companies.
The survey is anonymous!
