Outdoor workers wanted: Invitation to a survey on sun protection at work

With summer temperatures on the rise, many people can seek shade or move indoors. For those who work outdoors, however, prolonged exposure to the sun is part of everyday life. To better understand how UV protection is implemented in Austrian workplaces, the SHIELD research group at LBI Trauma, in collaboration with AUVA (Allgemeine Unfallversicherungsanstalt), has launched a nationwide survey.

The survey is aimed at people who work outdoors for at least two hours per day during the summer, including those employed in construction, agriculture, transport, tourism, education and other outdoor professions. It takes approximately ten minutes to complete, is entirely anonymous, and seeks to gather insights into current practices and challenges related to sun protection in the workplace.

The findings will contribute to a better understanding of occupational UV exposure and support efforts to improve sun safety measures for outdoor workers in Austria.

If you know someone who works outdoors, please consider sharing the survey with them. Every response helps generate valuable evidence to support safer working conditions.
