The showcase will highlight the full spectrum of services offered by AUVA in prevention, acute care, rehabilitation, and occupational safety. Covering 2,500 m² of exhibition space, visitors can explore AUVA’s work through interactive displays, live demonstrations, talks, and expert consultations. The event is part of Forum Prävention 2025, which is taking place for the 125th time this year – with an international focus.

Hands-on Research: Our “Skin” and “Trauma” Stations

At the “Skin” station, presented by our SHIELD research group (Safety, Healing, Intervention & EarLy Detection), everything revolves around skin health and protection in the workplace. In addition to engaging talks and posters, visitors can experience interactive activities such as a UV camera to visualise sun damage, lab-grown artificial skin to touch, and a Franz diffusion cell demonstration for analysing substance penetration.

At the “Trauma” station, we present current research on bone healing, neuroregeneration, intensive care, hemostasis, and shockwave therapy. Of course, hands-on elements are included here too: visitors can prepare and apply a bleeding control product, identify colorful histological samples, or see how a micro-CT scan works. A special highlight is the presentation of our clinical study on the use of shockwave therapy in patients with chronic spinal cord injuries, currently being conducted at the AUVA rehabilitation centers Weißer Hof and Tobelbad.
