Monitoring

Die komplexen pathophysiologischen Vorgänge innerhalb der ersten Stunden und Tage nach dem Trauma sind entscheidend für die Entwicklung von posttraumatischen Komplikationen und multiplem Organversagen (MOV). Die schnelle klinische Diagnose und die richtige Entscheidungsfindung stellen eine große Herausforderung im Management von polytraumatisierten Patienten dar.

Die Gruppe um Soheyl Bahrami beschäftigt sich mit der Charakterisierung von vielfältigen unterschiedlichen pathologischen Risikofaktoren, wie beispielsweise Blutungsschock, Gerinnungsstörungen, Schädelhirntrauma, Entzündungen oder Infektionen. Ihre Erkennung ist die Voraussetzung für eine erfolgreiche Behandlung der Unfallpatienten auf der Intensivstation. Die laufenden Forschungsschwerpunkte sind:

  • Immunstatus (Entzündungsreaktionen)
  • Hämostase (Thromboelastometrie vs. Standardgerinnungsparameter)
  • Septische Komplikationen (Vorhersage, Diagnose)
  • Schädelhirntrauma (Biomarker im Blut)
  • Darm (Permeabilität, bakterielle Translokation)
  • Bedside Monitoring (POCT, Optimierung/Entwicklung von neuen Testmethoden/Geräten)

Das Ziel der Forschungsgruppe ist durch die Verbesserung der Diagnosemethoden die klinische Entscheidungsfindung zu optimieren und damit eine individuell angepasste und bestmögliche Behandlung der Unfallpatienten zu ermöglichen.
